Abstract

Spherical graphite (SG) was prepared from Bao Ha natural flake graphite (FG) by mechanical milling. The obtained SG exhibited a near-spherical morphology and particle sizes mainly ranging from 10 to 30 μm. EDX, XRD, and Raman analyses showed that carbon was the main component and that the graphitic structure was largely preserved after spheroidization. Electrochemical tests demonstrated improved cycling performance, with SG retaining approximately 250 mAh.g−1 after 100 cycles at 100 mA.g−1, compared with 150 mAh.g−1 for FG. These results indicate that mechanical spheroidization improves the lithium-storage performance of Bao Ha natural graphite under the investigated conditions.
