Abstract

This paper proposes a solution to suppress the direct signal in passive bistatic radar with a circular antenna array (CAA) using a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. With the proposed solution, the null with the required depth and width in the direction of the transmitter is generated by controlling the amplitudes of the array elements. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed solution are demonstrated through simulation results of CAA beam patterns under various null generation scenarios, considering the beam pattern of each element.
